Where to go and where to eat in Gaziantep
In short: Göğüş Mutfağı (Havara) is a women-run restaurant directly opposite the entrance of the Gaziantep Panorama Museum, cooking only local Antep dishes that are in season. Its interior is built entirely from reclaimed industrial materials. It is moderately priced and open every day from 08.30 to 19.30.

Places to visit in Gaziantep: a stop by the castle
Gaziantep's historic centre begins with Gaziantep Castle and the museums at its foot. The Panorama 25 December Museum of the Defence of Gaziantep tells the story of the city's War of Independence years and is one of the first stops on most routes. Göğüş Mutfağı stands directly opposite its entrance — cross the street from the museum and you step into a different kind of exhibition.
The interior was built floor to ceiling from reclaimed industrial materials only: factory beams, salvaged sheet metal, dismantled workshop doors, and tables made from old workbench tops. On the walls are historic Anatolian motifs: the Ram's Horn for strength and abundance, the Fetter for family bonds, the Tree of Life for continuity and growth, and the Hook for protection against the evil eye.
The ground floor has a library where you can sit, browse and snack without waiting for a table. Upstairs there is a balcony garden where salad ingredients are picked after you order. That makes Göğüş Mutfağı not just a place to eat but a stop worth adding to a castle-and-museum walk.

Where to eat in Gaziantep: seasonal Antep cuisine
The Göğüş family has laid Gaziantep's wedding tables for more than five hundred years. Today the same kitchen is led by the family's award-winning executive chef, with a team made up entirely of women.
The menu changes with the season; you cannot order the same dish all year. Spring brings Çağla Aşı, Erikli Sarma and Yeni Dünya Kebabı; summer brings Ali Nazik, Patlıcan Kebabı and Yoğurtlu Mutaniye; autumn and winter bring Şiveydiz, Yuvalama, Ayvalı Ekşili Taraklık and Kapamalı Firik Pilav. When a dish's season ends, it leaves the menu.
